With the 2-1 pitching duel loss the previous day, the Athletics were seeking retribution with Norfolk. Mack sent Jesse Flores to the mound with Jack Robinson toeing the rubber for Norfolk. Athletics batters unmercifully bashed out 19 hits off Robinson who remained on the mound for all nine frames. Flores, who went the distance for the A’s didn’t have the best performance for Philadelphia as he was pounded for 13 safeties. Defensive miscues were the order of the day as each squad errored four times.

The Athletics made amends for their March 30 loss with runs to spare in the 15-7 runaway tilt.
