Following the 11-0 Navy blowout win, the Army found a way to win after falling behind, 4-0. Navy tallied two runs in consecutive innings to put the Army in arrears after three innings. In the sixth frame, Army cut the lead in half and then took a 5-4 lead in the seventh. With a seven games-to-one lead in the overall series (including the 6-1 Servicemen’s World Series win), the Navy evened the score in the ninth but the Army tallied the winning run in their half.

An inversion of the Game 8 piece, this single-sheet, four-page program features an illustrated cover, full rosters with the player’s previous club experience with the back cover reserved sponsorship advertisements. The single cardstock page is bi-folded with two monochromatic color selections; black on the exterior and red for the interior pages (Game 8 is red on the cover and black on the interior). This piece came to the Chevrons and Diamonds Collection from Al Brancato who featured prominently in the Series.
