Wartime service scorecard and program cover art ranged from basic utilitarian to beautifully hand-illustrated graphics like this Brookley Army Air Field card. This piece, while not a scorecards, is diminutive in size but the amount of information it contains outpaces its small dimensions.

This monochrome-black piece is printed on heavy cardstock and folded to form a four-page schedule and roster for the Brookley Field Army Air Forces baseball team that played in the Service Industrial League in the Mobile, Alabama region. Facing service teams including the U.S. Coast Guard and the Naval Outlying Landing Field, Barin, Brookley Field also saw action against civilian clubs including Alabama Dry Docks Company, Aluminum Ore Company, Gulf Shipbuilding Company and Altimore Prison.

When folded, the Brookley Field card’s dimensions are four-by-five inches. Download and view the program in its entirety.
