Heading into the game with the 7th, West Point had ten wins against six losses and a pair of ties. Lehigh (6-3), Lafayette (6-0), Dartmouth (1-0), Georgetown (10-8), Fordham (3-0) and Holy Cross (3-1). The Cadets ties were against Norwich (3-3, 12-innings) and Union (2-2). Just three days earlier, the Cadets downed rival Annapolis, 7-1.

Cadet hurler Alexander Patch, Jr. pitched all nine innings, limiting the Seventh to one tally. Poetically, Patch struck out seven Seventh Regiment batters allowing third baseman Knox (hit) and relief pitcher Ray to reach base (hit by pitch) who scored on an error by centerfielder, Hernan Ulloa.

Cadet batter Gilbert Cook accounted for three base hits while Richard Anderson and William Harrison acquitted themselves with two hits, apiece and Houston Whiteside hit a solo homerun to lead off the seventh inning. West Point took flight on the basepaths as Louis Merillat, Otis Sadtler, Lyman, and Harrison each swiped bags. Three errors didn’t help the Seventh Regiments cause as their miscues led to West Point runs in the 11-1 rout.
The U.S. Military Academy went on to beat Syracuse (3-0), Bucknell (3-2) and Columbia (3-1) as they finished the season with a 14-6-2 record.

The Cadets dominated the 7th Infantry Regiment. West Point tallied nine runs on nine hits and held the 7th to one run on a pair of hits. Both teams committed three errors in the 9-1 blowout. The U.S. Military Academy finished the season with a 14-6-2 record, including defeating the Naval Academy, 7-1 on May 27.

Printed on bi-folded cardstock, the scorecard features an ornately designed front cover, team and player photos and scoring grids for both teams. Despite the missing portion of the cover (and internal page), the condition is moderate considering it is more than 110 years old. All four panels of the scorecard show considerable pencil markings (we removed the marks from three of the four pages on our scanned images) which detract from the value in addition to the aesthetics.
